you know Cairo is the capital of Egypt. This city holds more then 16 million
people,which is 16 times the number in 1882 .The eastern part of Cairo
is the old City and the western part of Cairo is the modern part.So as
you see two distinct cities the old and the new ,make up Cairo.
Modern
Cairo faces the Nile It's wide avenues are lined with blocks of modern
appartment ,
houses
Skyscraper office buildings,governement buildings ,theaters , malls shops
,five stars Hotels universities and museums. |

the two large islands in the Nile are foreign embassies,clubs and paliatial
villas .Old Cairo has many fine examples of arab architecture .Streets
are narrow and unpaved .Muski and Khan El Khalil are Cairo's most famous
bazaar,where one can buy almost everything from there like leather,weaving
rugs,silver and all kind of working metals.You can buy from there all kind
of souvenirs. |

as you can see Egypt is a land of contrasts, just behind the fertile Nile
valley there's the burning desert.Towering above both can be found the
mighty mountains of Sinai.The desert is parched ,yet snow can be found
on the mountains ,and in between these extremes of heat and cold ,the Nile
valley blooms and flourishes . |
