1.... First pick up the image below (right click and save as or save image as depending on the browser you are using) and open in psp 5 (file name is Samantha_01) and Make the Image 16 million colors (color/increase/16 million colors) click on your magnifying glass and make your image larger so you can see the detail.... make a copy of the image (edit/copy/edit/paste as new image) place you original out of the way I Recommend you Read 2 through 7 completely THAN come back to 2 and start..... 2.... use your selection tool and surround the smallest amount of the "V" that you can..... See image below...... 3.... Next use your clone brush to paint out the V and to remove the black line Using the Clone Brush 4.... Click on the clone tool / look at your tool control/ Set the brush size to 1 5.... Right click on the picture/ where you want to copy from/ than left click inside the selected area and hold mouse button down and begin moving the mouse around/ where you want to paint too.... see images below Right Click Left Click 6.... Paint out the V... You will have to right click a lot..... Talk a look at what you have in the picture that will best reproduce the area covered by the V.... You can also use a different image to clone from...... take a second image to 16 million colors and right click on it.... than left click inside the selected image..... The image does not have to be selected to use the clone tool... selecting the area keeps you from painting out side the area you have selected..... Selecting the area with the selection tool just give you an advantage....... 7.... I started about 7 pixels above the V and painted up and down ...... right clicking often to get the folds from the sleeve..... and I used the magnifying tool to make the image even larger than pictured here..... Once I had the dark color filled in from the sleeve I right clicked below the V and painted upwards to cover the lighter colors...... V Gone Blur/Soften 8....Click image/blur/soften/ while still selected (running ants) 9.... Click Selections/ Select none/ Stops the running ants..... 10.... Take your image to normal size and if you can see a line... Enlarge it and use the clone tool to paint out the line.... You can resect if you wish or you can paint without the selected area..... Deselected Touchup 11.... Next with the clone tool at brush size 1 right click 3 pixels from the black line surrounding the image and left click on the black edge and paint out the edge... this one will be easier than most because there are not a lot of colors close to the black line.... When you have a lot of colors you will have to right click a lot to get the colors matching..... Enlarge to at least 1.6 .... it will help a lot..... Black Line Black Line Gone 12.... You May Want To Save Your Image Now "As A Keeper"....... file/save as/give name/choose file extension .gif/select folder you want the image stored in...... The Hard Work Is Done Now We Will Play With Colors 13.... Samantha is so pretty I hesitate to change her..... But lets pretend it is a photo and we want to make it look brighter and newer..... Fist look at the image and determine what color there is too much of.... in this image I see too much green and not enough blue so that is where I will start..... Start with small amounts and do many times especially with real photos you have scanned...... 14.... Colors/adjust/"red/blue/green" 15..... Red=0... Green =-5... Blue=10... click ok..... Do Twice 16... Pictures After Application Of R =0 G=-5 B=10 1st RBG 2nd RBG 17.... Colors/adjust/ brightness contrast....do twice 18... Set Brightness to 10 and contrast to 20 and click ok 19... Pictures After Brightness=0 Contrast=35 1st Contrast 2nd Contrast 20..... Before N After Before After Show N Tell Time 21....Now if everyone would experiment with changing settings and see the different creations they can come up with and share them with the class....
