In the late 1890s Gold and Silver were discovered in the Rock Ck area....As the early prospectors worked they kept finding these small stones which stuck in the riffles of their sluice boxes. At first they cussed them and threw them away .. but it was not long before they were discovered to be Sapphires and a new market opened up....Today most of the Sapphire-rich ground is owned by a company called American Gems; they own most everything around except a few small claims. My mine is located on the Sapphire Mt range and is 8,200' in elevation. My working time is barely three months of the year due to the lack of access. I was able to recover enough good cuttable Sapphires to last through the year, of which, I sell most of my material Via E- Bay Auction and through my Web pages..I try to keep my prices at direct mine pricing which allows you to buy and resell, etc. My name is Dave Beaudoin- owner and operator - and I'm 60 years young preferring to deal on a one-on-one basis with the small guy rather than with big companies or corporations. No deal too small for a small time dealer in a small time town.
