According to Nikkei Computer, Square has signed with Microsoft as a third party developer and is currently developing FFXI for the Xbox. Square has signed on to develop games for the Microsoft's Xbox, according to Nikkei Computer. The report claims that the company is currently developing Final Fantasy XI for the Xbox. Insiders say that Square received development kits for the Xbox last summer, but because Microsoft had not revealed the Xbox's final specs at that time and because the user's manual for the development kit was only in English, it made the process somewhat difficult for Square. "We currently can't confirm or deny that information. Acquiring Final Fantasy, one of the most popular video game series, is indeed one of our primary goals," said Naoto Yoshioka, Microsoft's advanced technology group manager for the Xbox. "We will indeed be happy if Square announces its development for the Xbox." Meanwhile, Square's PR representative commented, "No official announcements have been made concerning our company signing for Microsoft's Xbox as a third-party developer. We cannot comment regarding the development of Final Fantasy for the Xbox." Final Fantasy XI for the PS2 will be released sometime in the summer of 2001. No official announcements have been made on the Xbox version at this time, but one could come as early as next week. But the research,conducted by a team from the University of chicago and ohio state University, olso suggests a remedy: just saying hello or being nice in other small ways can help prevent heart attacks among the lonely. the tribune said the study found that being lonely is a major risk factor of heart disease, as bad as high fat diet, high blood presure, obesity, smoking or physical inactivity. Psychologiest john cacioppo of University of chicago was quoted as saying loneliness tends to rise blood presure and disrupt sleep, both of which put people at greater risk of heart trouble. Population experts long have know that lonely people tend to be sicker and die younger, but they don't know why. Women with few social contacts and who feel isolated, for instance, have a greater risk of dying of cancer. married cancer patiens have better outcomes then unmarried cancer patients. "it was assumed that people who arew lonely don't take good care of themselves", We 've all experienced loneliness, in our heart of hearts ,we believe that things like stress make you sick,believing make you well and being lonely may make you sick. if you understand all the parts of how you can go from feeling lonely to getting sick, then you can better figure out way to overcome these problems. April 18 Lets continue with FF IX I didn't realize it till now after seeing this pic at www.ffonline.com that I recognized THAT character from a Coke commercial just recently airing in Japan. It features some of the characters in FF9! Which means that the commercial was done by Square. In the commercial the main characters are chaising this flying magical Coke logo, through their town. Sounds funny but you have to see it to believe it Its really cool. Awesome animation and just a plain nicely done commercial I'm assuming Square is going to be using the SD style characters for FF9.
