* SPV Senior Girls slamdunk Mordern
After the Junior Boys Basketball team lost to the Mordern team by four points, the entire SPV contigent, consisting of the senior boys and girls plus the junior girls basketball teams, went to Mordern School(Barakhamba) to play
the final leg of the zonals. Due to the horrible weather and impending rains only the senior girls team managed to play and boy did they play.
The underdogs lead by captain Madhavi Cherian scored in the first 5 seconds, leaving the Morderdn team stunned. After that there was no
looking back as they proceeded to slaughter the Mordernites 29 to 17. Akshita Mehra(also School taekwando(?) champion) topscored with 12 points. Capt Madhavi came in second with 11 points. On the Mordern side Megha Roy and Supriya stood out.
* Rangoli Festival held in school
The traditional Rangoli festival was held once again at school, just before Diwali
The central theme this year wasSymbols of Prosperity and the teams managed to interpret this theme in a variety of ways. Many teams managed to
get merit cards. One rangoli that really stood out was one just outside the office which was a stylized yin&yang sign with bangles, and another striking but rather unusual one was almost next to it. It had a clay base with some sort of structure on it.
I'm sure it meant something i just did'nt have time to read it.
Another form of humour is the prevalance of really pathetic jokes like-
#"i'll wring your neck!"
More News shall be coming soon(why?)
So bookmark this site!!!
After being hounded(no pun intended) on the school ground by kids and garderners alike Tikku(is that his name?\) the dog finally seems to have found
his place in the SPV family!(as princi would call it) He is now the unofficial mascot of the school and is suprisingly friendly, though inclined to be a bit nrevous. He hangs out at the canteen and the sixthes are often seem feeding our
canine friend. He seems to be moving up in life as i have often seen him lounging near the staff room. He has now replaced the black cat that used to do rounds in our school. Anyway like it or not, tikku is here to stay!
*Coming Back Blues reduced by looong weekends
Inspite of the fact that school opened on the sixth of this month.. coming back has not been too bad as due to festivals and so on so forth.. we have been treated to weekends that go on forever! After the immense block of holidays extending all the way from
the 17th to the 23rd.. we now can look foward to another block from the 31st to the 4th of november!(yes it's real). Ofcourse Vijaya, chitra and so on are busy complaining about how completing the course, we turn a blind eye to them! But unfortunately the
phrase "Theres no such thing as a free lunch!" keep coming into play as our cheap kunjoos school has given us this block in lieu of the holiday on the 14(second saturday). But I guess it's better to have a block than to have a saturday in the middle.
Our winter holidays are however shockingly short as we have got holidays only from 23rd of Dec to the 5th of Jan.
*New Brand of humour emerges in SPV
Spv has always been known for it's progressive sense of humour but now a type of humour has come up
which is causing people to change the way they look at and use words. They consist of puns which are real
(sorry.. i can't resist this) punishment. Yet another even freakier brand of humour is prevalent in the tenth,
particularly in class ten A, whose residents I have had the fortune(or misfortune) of conversing with. It can be clssified as the tu kya kar raha hai brand of humour. A notable example is-
#"Tu kya kar raha hai?
Mein humour raha hu
You won't find anyone home!
