The Pacific Electric ran a fleet of these cars that
resembled a double truck Birney, although they were built to a much heavier
standard. They commonly ran on local lines on the streets, and that
is evident from the many dents found on almost all local cars. Encounters
with automobiles were not uncommon. This Picture shows one of the 100s
in it's pre-modernized dark red paint scheme with yellow
lettering.
