Pictures from the Texas Eagle. National Convention in Dallas/ Fortworth area. 7/6/99 - 7/11/99.

Tuesday July 6th

A Kansas City Southern F-Unit leads the KCS Executive train over a high bridge just outside of Dallas.

A BNSF Theater car (So called do to it's rising terases seating, much like in a movie theater. Note the windows towards the rear) trails the end of the KCS exec. train. (Above photo)

Here is the group at the small KCS yard in Dallas. (Left to Right: Danny Scheuth, Newton Vezina [with video camera!] and Andrew Matarazzo)

Here I am (Joe Bohannon) in front of the Santa Fe M-160, this was still on the "Dingo" for a special July 4th train.

Here are a few members (Left to Right: Hans Raab, Andrew Matarazzo and convention director Ritchie Roesch. Located behind is Jimmy Spavins) riding the DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit).

Wednesday July 7th

Here is another picture of the group, this time riding the Texas State RR. (Guess who has the video camera [Newton])

Danny Scheuth shows us an optical illusion as he is IN the flatcar, actually the side of the car is sliced/cut where he is at.

A Union Pacific Tunnel Motor! Is nothing safe from UP? Too bad we didn't catch any of the KCS T-Motors...

We decided to chance it and wait for a train at a diamond we found. The group is all listiening to a story from Newton Vezina. We did get lucky and saw a UP frieght clank across soon after.

Friday July 9th

This is the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Network Operation Center (NOC). This room houses all the dispatching for whole BNSF system!

While at the NOC, located at the BNSF headquarters in Fortworth, we were also treated to viewing some of the private cars.

While in Fortworth, we stopped by the Amtrak station. We were able to see one of the Heartland Express trains in the station. Including this Phase IV "Cabbage" car (photo) and also a newly painted Phase IV F40PH.

Later that day we got to see the Lockheed-Martin club layout. TAMR members even got to run trains around using DCC. (Left to Right: Justin Arkin, Scott Willett and Pete Maurath)

Sunday July 11th

A steam locomotive on the Austin Central (If I remember correctly).

A "Flying" frieght (Thanks to "Highball" Danny Schueth) on the Cat Mountain & Santa Fe. Yes the famous layout by David Barrows was part of the tour. Thank You Mr. Barrows!

Ritchie Roesch looks intently over the CM&SF Yard.

Post-Convention, Monday July 12th

KCS GeepM, well not a real GeepM, but a GP40W, from the CN.

Special Thanks goes to John Reichel for allowing me to share his photos. If you have photos from TAMR events, I'd love to see them and post them. Please e-mail me below.
