As the 1987 GMs (6210-6265) and MCIs (6266-6293) are heavily used these years , most of these buses have received the 2nd 6 year overhaul and new color scheme have been tested on these buses. The first experimental color was applied on 6254 (centre top and bottom),like the current new livery on the rebuilt GM Fishbowls and Orions, we can see more "white" features on 6254. Than, another new color which features more black color was put on 6273 (top right and bottom left). After these 2 experimental trials, the TTC seems to prefer the 6273 style livery and other buses such as 6259, 6265, 6269 are all repainted like with the 6273 style. 6287(top left) were repainted partially with the classic livery in 1997.. | 6250(original) | Malvern's 6250 was seen as a standby bus at Sheppard station in Oct 1998, as the Sheppard subway construction began. 6250 received the 12-year rebuild at the age of 13 and became a Birchmount-based bus after the rebuild. |
| 6251(original) | 6251 was still in the original livery in Oct 1998, she was repainted in late May 1999 and returned to active service with no fleet # the first day on May 29. It was an inconvenience and they put the white-colored fleet number 2 weeks later. Why they did that was not known but the white number with ivory painting background basically was very difficult to be seen. Therefore, it was replaced by black colored number in early August. |
