Tips for Medicating Fish
Use a seperate medical tank when possible.
A partial water change is suggested before any treatment.
Avoid combining chemicals and antibiotics unless otherwise suggested by the manufacturer.
If undesirable chemicals or other medications are present in the tank prior to using a selected medication, filter the water for several hours with fresh carbon or biochem sorb.
Always remove carbon or absorbants before medicating the tank
To avoid stress due to oxygen depletion brought on by the use of some medications, Check to see all airstones are working and there is plenty of water currents on the surface of the tank.
After treating, use carbon to filter medication out of the tank
After medication, do a partial water change in the tank.
After medication, reinvigorate the bacteria bed with a bacteria builder if necessary.
