Airstones & Diffusers
Many hobbyists are unaware of how important an airstone can be to the performance of their filtration or skimming equipment. Air stones create upward draw for better undergravel filter action. They agitate the water surface for better oxygenation. They simulate natural currents or water channels found in natures water habitats. Clean and change airstones frequently to prevent reduced circulation from clogging or wearing out Bubble size is related to back pressure. The smaller the bubbles, the more power you will need from your pump. For small bubble, wood, glass, or ceramic airstones used on protein skimmers, select a more powerful pump than is usually rated for your tank size.
Air tubing & valves
Air tubing reaches from your pump outlet to the filter plate. Measure from where your pump wil sit, up the tank and down into the tank again to the upright where you will attach the tubing.
Valves (or splitters) are used to direct the air to more than one place. If your pump has only one outlet, get a 2 way splitter if you wish the air to go to two uprights or split the air from the filter to ornaments.
NOTE:If you are pushing two uprights or powering ornaments, purchase a larger pump as each split cuts the efficiency of the filter. Better yet, purchase a pump for the filter and a separaate pump for ornaments.
 Silicone Airline Tubing-will not harden.
Clear Plastic Air Tubing-fits all standard air outlets.
 Brass Valves-resist corrosion.
Ultra Valves-all plastic construction-safe for fresh and saltwater.
Check Valve-protects Air Pump from back siphoning damage.
Plastic "T"-seperates air flow for multiple accessories.
