Stand
There are several types of stands that can be used for an aquarium
Angle Iron
This is likely the least expensive and usually come in black. These stands are usually fully welded and pre-assembled. It is not uncommon for these to be made to hold 2 aquariums. One on top and one on the lower shelf.
Cabinet
These stands are completely enclosed and designed only for one tank. They have a door on the bottom where you can hide the pumps and other equipment used on the tank.
Enclosed
These stands consist of a cabinet and matching canopy. These are usually the most expensive of the stands but they are also the most pleasant to look at.
Homemade
These can be made out of about anything. Wood, Metal, or even brick. If you do build your own stand make sure that it is sturdy, flat, and level enough to support your aquarium.
Knock Down
These are cheap wood stands that are sold in kits. These kits can usually be put together in a few minutes and come in a variety of designs.
Scroll
These are similar to the Angle iron stand only they have decorative scroll work instead of straight legs. These also are made to hold 2 aquariums on them.
