The band "DISLIKE"
was born in the year of 1995 at South Jakarta. Formed by Dody,
U-ups along with the other friends. By singing songs from The
Sex Pistols and The Exploited, We started to go on the stage
at some place in Jakarta. Sadly, at the time the band experiencing
some changes with the band members, some caused by the economic
problems, some just doesnt want to fit it. The conflict ended
when 2 brothers are Rusdi and Isal joined the band in the year
of 1996.
From that moment on the
"Dislike" members are no longer in conflict.
They are :
Dodi : Vocals
Rusdi : Bass, Backing
Vocals
Isal : Guitars
U-ups : Drums
With this new formation,
Dislike lives again carrying songs form Subhumans, Crass, The
Varukers, Discharge and our own songs. We went up stage once
again.
Finally in the year of
1998, along with the other Punksters from Jakarta, We released
a compilation album " STILL ONE STILL PROUD". The album consisted of 13 Oi!/Punk bands
from Jakarta. Including Dislike whom in the album recorded a
song intitled "Citizen Scared". The song about Jakarta's
Riot Mei 1998.
Mainly our songs are about
the social and political crisis that are happening in our country
, Indonesia, Where right now is experiencing the worst crisis
since who knows...Dislike's songs yells critics, protests and
warnings to the "New Order" Rezim and the powerful
of Status-Quo which supported the Indonesian Army who runs the
country for about 32 years. For all this time they have done
coruption, colution and nepotism all for the benefits of themself
and their family, other than that , there are a lot of violation
of the human rights, Our Democratic system just dont work the
results of that are crisis in the most fields , Indonesia right
now, experiencing the worst economical, political, social, moral
and law crisis.
With this, we would like
to all people especially the Indonesian Punksters and undergrounders
to join, to be united to become one and change this sickening
system in this once beatiful country.
