In Northkeep we require an extemporanious composition as part of our Baronial Bardic competition. The finalists are given a subject, and one hour to compose a new work on that subject. This was my winning entry in Northkeep's seventh bardic competition. It is in the form of a Triolet. The Triolet was invented in 13th C. France, and is my favorite verse form to compose in. The subject for the competition was the phrase, "His Hawk and his Hound and his Lady Fair".

What more could you ask on a fine spring day like this?
That's all I need for a heart that's light and free from care.
