SORROW'S HARVEST

An Accounting of the Fallen Companions of the Black Star
By Lady Elanor O'Ruark of the House of Wolfstar

There is no discrimination in Death's cold call.
On young and on old, His sickle must fall.
But, we will recall our companion's names,
Their songs and deeds, their words and fame.
Time cannot their memories destroy,
Taken in sorrow, remembered in joy.
Bjorn, a freind both noble and true.
Morgan was fearless, through and through.
Caitlin, in Namron's circlet fair.
Kendra, with blossoms in her hair.
Sir John the Plain was an honorable knight.
Alexander bears always, his innocence bright.
Edward, the carpenter with an artist's hands.
In a mongol's yurt, Subadai stands.
Ragnar is sitting in Odin's hall.
Blackfox is piping brave Scotland's call.
Cadi is having a quiet chat
With Fury's green-eyed, red-haired Cat.
Sir Ricardo was Ansteorran, heart and soul.
Baroness Alice made broken hearts whole.
Finn's Michael Patrick was taken too young.
Baroness Vashti's Flame will shine on.

And we will remember, we who remain,
Their songs and deeds, their words and fame.

To all those who have gone before us......Vivat!
