RULES FOR ALL-PLAY-ALL
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
RATE
OF PLAY: 35 moves in 1 hour 45 mins each.
Clocks start 7.15.
Adjournments: 30
moves in 1½ hours each. Clocks
start 8.15.
Alternative rates of play may be agreed. The controller must be notified in advance.
Because
of the difficulty in getting players to start on time and complete games in the
past and to give controllers as little hassle as possible the rules have been
tightened up and will be enforced without exception to make life easier for us
all. Not turning up for games or arriving late causes
inconvenience to your opponent and controller.
So please be considerate and ensure that every change you make to the
playing schedule is written on the chart to avoid annoying controllers during
their games.
ARRIVING
ON TIME / AT ALL:
White's
clock will be started by the controller at 7.15 sharp to finish by 10.45.
A player who arrives after 8.15 on the date shown or agreed will
automatically lose by default unless both players have agreed to a postponement
or a late start AND have informed the controller in advance or have filled in
details of this on the noticeboard IN ADVANCE.
POSTPONEMENTS
/ ADJOURNMENTS:
The
playing schedule is designed to be flexible.
Any player can arrange with their opponent and controller in
advance to postpone their game.
*** THEY MUST WRITE IN THE NEW AGREED DATE ON THE CHART ***.
Otherwise their controller will automatically award both players 0.
Adjournment dates must also be written on the chart or both players will get 0.
Dates may be changed in advance.
Please arrange postponements/adjournments for the first available date.
Players may agree to start late and/or to different time controls provided they
mark the agreed start time on the chart in advance if it differs from 7.15.
AFTER
EACH GAME:
Write
the result on the chart. FAILURE TO
MARK IN RESULTS OR DATES WILL CAUSE PLAYERS TO LOSE POINTS AUTOMATICALLY.
RECORDING
MOVES
Moves must be recorded until 5 mins are left on the clock. Games should be recorded using carbon paper and the top copy put in the box provided for each section. Please mark your section on the scoresheet and "BEST GAME" if applicable. It is hoped to produce a bulletin for some sections possibly for inclusion in the next yearbook.
QUIET
Please allow players to concentrate. This is the Club Championships. Bring casual games or analysis down to the bar.
