The beginning of survival.

If a disaster strikes that forces you from your home, what are your plans? You are on camping trip and become hopelessly lost, what do you do? If you have a knowledge of primitive wilderness skills, you will expand your options.

Lets face it, we became survivalist to make ourselves less dependent on the system. The best place to be in a disaster is in your prepared home, but if you are forced from your home, you will need, and want, some options. Going to a disaster shelter is a valid option, but in our opinion not a good one. Most of the people you encounter in these shelters are totally unprepared and will have to rely on the agency providing aid for everything. And the providing agency will be overwhelmed by the onslaught of the unprepared.

You can go and join family in a safe area. This is a good idea, especially if you bring what you need to take care of yourself and you family. It is just polite to bring you needs and not be a burden on your loved ones.

Building skills in wilderness living gives you another option. If you have wilderness skills, ridding out some disasters can be no more trying then the camping trip you take on vacation.

In this section, we will provide the basics of wilderness survival. You can add these skills to your knowledge base to improve your chances of surviving and to make yourself more comfortable in your surroundings.
