ISRAEL, Excavating the City of David!

This photo is from the National Geographic book, "Splendors of The Past; Lost Cities of the Ancient World", shows the City of David Archaeological site that I helped to excavate in 1979. (The arrow points to yours truly)It is located in the Kidron Valley, just SE of the old city walls of Jerusalem.

GREAT ZIMBABWE; Subject of my Fulbright paper!

I was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship in 1991, spending that summer in study and travel in southern Africa; Zimbabwe, Botswana, Zambia, Malawi and South Africa. My research paper on the Great Zimbabwe Ruins was published in November, 1991. This photo shows part of the ruins.

Magnificent, incredible, awe inspiring.
My travels to Mexico have taken me to the great archaeological site of Chichen Itza. This is the main temple, El Castillo (The Castle).
