Baptism
Therefore we are buried with
Him by baptism...ROMANS 6:4

IS BAPTISM NECESSARY FOR SALVATION
"Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a
man be born of the water and of
the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom
of Heaven."
John 3:5

The phrase here, "born of the water",
does not imply a physical birth, but instead,
the first step of a two step process
necessary to be born again.

"Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a
man be born again, he cannot see the
Kingdom of God."
John 3:3

When you were born the first time, you
come forth of the water from your mother's
womb. Next you had to breathe the breath
that caused life to come into you.
To be born again, these steps must be
repeated. You come forth from the water (baptisim).
Your sins have been remitted, washed away.
Like a new born child, you become pure
and innocent. Then you can recieve the spiritual
breath of Life (Holy Ghost).

"He that believeth and is baptised shall be
saved;"
Mark 16:16

It can be clearly understood, those that do
not believe and are not baptized, shall not
be saved.

2. HOW SHOULD I BE BAPTIZED
The word 'baptize' comes from the Latin word
'bapto' meaning to immerse, to go under.

The baptism of Jesus.
"And straightway coming up out of the water,..."
Mark 1:9

Philip baptizes a eunuch
"...And they went down both into the water,..."
Acts 8:38

"arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy
sins, calling on the name of the Lord."
Acts 22:16
The word 'wash' indicates something more than the
sprinkling of a few drops of water.

3. DOES THE NAME REALLY MATTER

You will find that the scriptures record only
one Name ever used during the act
of baptism. No record is given of any
person in the early church being baptized other
than "in the Name of the Lord Jesus
Christ". All reference and church history records declare
that during the lives of the Apostles,
no other wording was ever used during
baptism. No authentic first century book records
a single instance of other wording during
the first hundred years of
the early church.

"...repent and be baptized every one of you
in the Name of Jesus Christ..."
Acts 2:38

"And he commanded them to be baptized in
the Name of the Lord"
Acts 10:48

"When they heard this, they were baptized in
the Name of the Lord Jesus"
Acts 19:5

"...arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy
sins, calling on the name of the Lord."
Acts 22:16

"Know ye not, that so many of us
as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized
into his death?"
Romans 6:3

"Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you?
or were ye baptized in the name of
Paul?"
1Corinthians 1:12
Here Paul implies that you should be baptised
in the Name of the one that died for you.

"And were all baptized unto Moses in the
cloud and in the sea; And did all
eat the same spiritual meat; And did all
drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank
of that spiritual Rock that followed them:
and that Rock was Christ."
Corinthians 10:2
Everything they experienced, was done in Christ,
and in His Name.

"For as many of you as have been
baptized into Christ have put on Christ."

Galatians 3:27

No where in the Bible, will you find
anyone baptized in any other Name. There is
not one scripture where a single person was
ever baptized in the titles, Father, Son,
and Holy Ghost, neither will you find the
word 'trinity' in the Bible.

It is important what Name is used during baptism.

"This is the stone which was set at
nought of you builders, which is become the
head of the corner. Neither is there salvation
in any other: for there is none other
name under heaven given among men, whereby we
must be saved. "

To do it any other way,
is to go against His Holy Word;
which defeats the whole purpose of salvation.
