1. To make black frosting: First mix brown icing
colors by Wilton with chocolate frosting. Then add black icing
colors by Wilton, mixing until thoroughly blended.
2. Check with the teacher concerning any food
allergies the students may have. If you want to make the peanut
butter pumpkin recipe but there is a student who is allergic to
peanuts, substitue the popcorn ghost recipe and shape into pumpkins
not ghosts.
3. When decorating spider treats, spiders have eight
legs.
4. Any treat that calls for ice cream or whipped
topping is best to be made at school immediately before serving to
avoid flops.
5. Candy Melts are made by Wilton and can be found
at stores that sell cake decorating items.
6. Skeleton toothpicks can be found at Halloween
time. Look for them at discount stores.
7. Refreshments can be served from cardboard
coffins, found at Halloween time. Look for them at discount stores.
8. Pumpkins carved out and cleaned can be used to
hold dips or punch.
9. Canned frosting is used in all frosting recipes,
but feel free to make your favorite homemade recipes if desired.
10. Grades 4-6 do fine serving themselves (buffet
style). Other grades are usually to young. There can be exceptions,
please ask the teacher, she knows her students. |
