The Story :
Steve and Doug Butabi's ultimate goal is to get into an A-list club, the Roxbury and maybe someday, even run a club of their own. However, they're not on the guest list and can't get in, until luckily, their car gets hit by Richard Grieco.

To avoid a court settlement, Grieco obliges to take the two brothers to the hot spot. At the Roxbury, the brothers are introduced to Mr. Zadir, who agrees to a meeting to discuss their concepts for new clubs.
During the meeting, the brothers are spotted by two fortune hunters on the prowl, Cambi and Vivica who mistake them for loaded businessmen. Doug and Steve finally lose their virginity to what they think are their girlfriends till they find out otherwise.

Meanwhile, dad is furious with his sons who go clubbing all night. They refuse to work in his silk floral shop and are allergic to responsibility. So, he encourages Emily, the shy neighbour to pursue Steve for a marriage commitment.

What happens to the Butabi Brothers? Does Steve marry Emily? What becomes of their club ideas? Find out in Roxbury.

The Review :
Based on the popular Roxbury Guys sketches on Saturday Night Live, the characters are created and regularly played by Will Ferrell and Chris Kattan. A Night At The Roxbury is guys' answer to Romy And Michelle's High School Reunion. Except that here, the losers are trendy, loaded and living in Beverly Hills!

Ferrell and Kattan work up a good chemistry. Ferrell is more feisty while Kattan plays the dumber brother who's sort of a cross between Jim Carey and Kramer in the TV sitcom, Seinfeld.

Totally uncool, the brothers are true square pegs in a round hole. They do a good take driving you wild (with rage, not frenzy) with their antics of constipated, fits-inducing dance moves; constant rhythmic head bobbing and obnoxious behaviour. Molly Shannon and Loni Anderson play the additional misfits.

Even though there's a lot of real club scenes and outfits by Gucci, Versace, Calvin Klein, Chanel and more, A Night At The Roxbury is disappointing. Although glitzy and a little funny, it comes off cheesy and sleazy. Nevertheless, watch out for the scene where the music of Secret Garden's number comes on. A definite deja vu!
