A PETITION TO THE UN AFTER EXHAUSTION
OF ALL AVAILABLE DOMESTIC REMEDIES
IN 9 YEARS IN TEH QUESTION
OF ERASURE OF 130,000 NON-SLOVENES
(OUT OF 2 MILLION INHABITANTS

Madam,

As a non-governmental organization for human rights active since 1994, we have been facing the explained violations of human rights on ethnic basis. Our initiative, supported by the EU has brought some positive changes in Slovene legislation, but unfortunately not in the practices of disrespect of human rights by the authorities. The victims of HR violations, who belong to various new unacknowledged minorities in Slovenia, have run several rounds at courts in 9 years since their erasure - and have now mainly exhausted all remedies and their funds for attorneys. The effect on their lives is devastating, several our clients who have been erased, and thus become non-existent persons in Slovenia, have in the mean time died or became psychiatric patients under the described circumstances of erasure.

The enclosed Report for the UN concentrates on the erased Roma population as a model. Please accept this petition, which might bring about fast solution of the problem by the help of the UN.

Faithfully yours,

PRESIDENT
Neva Miklavèiè Predan
