Objective:   To find elements of inner and external conflict as they manifest themselves in the film "Go to the Head of the Class
Materials:  film as above.  notes.  questions
Opening Motivational Set:   Discussion of Characters who were symbols for something greater.  Possible to have a character symbolic for a kind of conflict?
Procedure:

1.  Go over notes on the Protagonist, etc., emphasizing the notion of flat and round characters and the way the protagonist develops for several reasons.

2.  Go over questions on film, and the task of discovering other possibilities for an inner conflict as well as the obvious principal "individual vs individual".

3.  Show film, then give a full 10 minutes to go over questions with a partner.

4.  Debrief by going over questions as a class.

5.  Assignment, only if there is time: 

On loose leaf, choose one element of foreshadowing you notice in the middle of the film, and develop on that idea such that a new story evolves.  Write that new story by summarizing the events before, and using that foreshadowing event as a new turning point.
