60 percent The Postcard Requirements
(The poems)
-
The "I am" Poem plus drawing
-- from the character (you?) at Tower University, here in Ormstown.
-
The "Imaginary" (Invisible) City plus drawing
-- from the traveller --description of a city on your traveller's
route.
-
A "Simile" Poem plus drawing
- from you at T.U. describing something about here -- using
similes in the first lines of the stanzas.
-
A "Symbol" Poem plus drawing, plus drawings of symbols
throughout your book.
- from your traveller -- think of five "things" which we
think of as symbols for something. Put them into a poem of any length.
(Here is where you could start to tell your story and include a beginning
"event")
-
Rhythmic Poem plus drawing (could be on an
envelope instead of a card because of length-)
-- from either person -- begins to tell the details of a story
-- all lines in poem must have the same number of syllables, and
have a smooth beat
-- think of how Casey At the Bat was written --it is not necessary
to rhyme, but some people find this easier.
-
Rhyming Poem plus drawing
--- from either person -- small poem of 12 lines (3 quatrains).
-- Each quatrain must have the same rhyme scheme. Ex.
ABAB or AABB, etc.
