Opening Motivational Set:    reading of the books ending
Procedure:

1    Groups from last day report on  significant events in chapters 15-18, as a timeline of page numbers  event and the significance in is put on board in table form;  see sample below

2.  Journal Entry:
"What is the main point of the story Walkabout, for you.  Give examples from the book and from life."

3.  Sample Bibliography on board

4.  Library research for the rest of the period

 

Followup/ Evaluation: 
essay in class next day, and bibliography sheet will be due at the beginning of that class
