Eva Unit 01 is the test type model piloted by Shinji. Unit 01 seems to be very important to Gendou's, Nerv's and Seele's plans. Unit 01 has some interesting characteristics that are different from the other Evas. For one, this robot is much more unstable. It is known to activate and go out of control without any power. A very mysterious machine.
