As Commander of Nerv, Ikari is in charge of the Evas and the Human Instrumentality Project. However, Gendou Ikari is a completely cold, heartless man. He has no feelings what so ever for his son, and is only concerned about his work. He is not afraid to use people to achieve his own goals, and it always seems he is following his own agenda.
