Taisha Abelar's first lecture in LA on 24.8.97
"This workshop is new to 'us' so it is a not-doing."
Different personae come to the fore under the guise of not-doing.
One can feel unknown to oneself.
Slowly but surely all familiar signposts erase themselves one by one.
Something remains though...
(We were told the story about an 85 year old man who no longer knew
who he
was
and who had also stopped talking altogether.
He had been a very domineering sort of character in the past telling
everyone what to do
and always making plans for everyone.
Apparently he was also famous. There was a damn named after him.
But when the psychiatrist who was going to take care of him announced
his
hourly fee at $350
the old man promptly negotiated him down to $95!)
Revamping: pruning, trimming down under the guise of not doing.
Once in a while it is necessary to revamp one's life. Throw out what
is not
necessary.
Sobriety: it was the old Nagual's view that what we do is measured
functionally.
The interest is in restoring the glow of awareness. Moving away from
the
'me'-self reflection-.
This is accomplished through saturation , doing the passes.
'Bobby'- (Taisha prefers the name 'Robert', since she is not in friendly
terms with the flyer, 'Bobby' she said was too close for comfort).
He is a big black blob, hideous, careless, dishevelled.
We're all a true reflection of 'Bobby' : Petty and egomaniacal.
To get out of his clutches is only possible by being sober warrior
travellers.
It takes energy and iron hand discipline (unbending purpose). That
way the
glow resurges.
Of course 'Robert' retaliates.
It is through self reflection that we are devoured by the predators.
So chose your alternatives according to function; think in terms of
impeccability,
ways of rekindling the glow, the prospect of a journey into the unknown.
We are warrior travellers on the way to Infinity.
Energetic facts: we are linked via the assemblage point to the dark
sea of
awareness.
Organic, inorganic and other beings are like probes through which the
universe is aware of itself.
In this light it takes guts of steel, unbending intent and discipline
to
journey into the unknown.
sobriety and detachment are necessary to keep one from going bonkers
with
concerns of 'me'.
A sense of aloofness is essential.
One initially says:"I can't do this", but soon one realises that the
only
alternative one has is to grow the glow of awareness.
We get mesmerised by pop idols and singers.
They cause us to try and take on the identities of these idiots and
so
feed 'Bobby' through our self pity.
Discipline and Sobriety are the only way to keep the predators at bay.
(We did the passes for 'Womb', 'Intent', 'Heat').

Taisha Abelar's second lecture in LA 24.8.97
What is an adequate frame of mind for the practice of the Tensegrity
passes?
"Elegant acquiescence"
Don Juan told Taisha that she had to learn how to move.
A member of Don Juan's group named Clara Bung had studied martial arts
in
China.
She was an expert in the long pole and influenced Don Juan with her
knowledge.
Taisha asked her to teach her the long pole, but she refused her
saying: " You're only good for one thing .... and not even that..."
So Taisha went to learn Judo. She found herself being thrown in all
directions
by an instructor who enjoyed practising 'the sacrifice throw'
on her
,because she was light in weight, and who also fancied her.
She was black and blue when she went to see Don Juan and he asked her
whether she had had a bout with an ally!
He heard her story and told her to persevere.
Taisha then decided to learn Karate. She visited a number of instructors
but
she soon
became an expert at finding flaws with their techniques.
This delayed her progress in learning martial arts.
"Stop fault-finding" she warned. "It is 'Bobby' who makes you a cynic".
Drastic manoeuvres were needed in Taisha's case to brake her socialisation
and cynicism.
Inorganic beings are as real as we are. (They do not have a physical
organism hence their name).
There is a third type of energy which has no boundaries and no discernible
assemblage point.
It is pure intelligence and it moves by a process of expansion and
contraction.
Taisha experienced this intelligent and undulating force while living
on the
tree tops and also while begging.
'Bobby' holds the keys to self importance.
When she was with Don Juan he used to give her the sobriety test.
He would ask her: "Are we going to be sober or are we going to indulge
in
tweet-tweet"?
(Taisha had learnt to imitate the cries of birds to perfection while
living
in her tree house)
To which she would reply "tweet-tweet".
The magical passes for not-doing had a devastating effect on her sense
of
self reflection.
It is the dark sea of awareness that nurtures our needs.
There are two modes of awareness:
The first is knowing something in general terms.
The second mode is a specific consciousness: being specifically aware
of
something tangible.
The most appropriate attitude in doing Tensegrity is to enable the 'Dark
Sea' to guide our journey.
Practice alone with the 'Sea' as your only witness. Functionality is
also
decided by the 'Dark Sea of Awareness'.
(The song 'Thinking about you' was played)

Taisha Abelar's third lecture LA 24.8.97
Some points of interest:
Whatever isn't part of our regular inventory doesn't register at all!
We think we understand but we don't.
These passes which are not part of our inventory have to be defined
and
redefined.
The passes were not invented they were discovered.
They were revealed by the Dark Sea of Awareness.
The Tensegrity passes were always magical.
They prepare one to be open to whatever the passes can offer.
Allow the passes to be a vehicle to move your assemblage point to a
point
outside yourself.
Ten women and six men are concerned with being free from 'Bobby'.( The
instructors)
The newcomers brought by Carol Tiggs and the others, the newer members
are
the most effective.
Warrior travellers demand elegance.
We are the property of our parents.
'Bobby' has taught us that propriety.
Also pets. We love them yet we mutilate them. That is 'Bobby's' paradigm
of
ownership.
So what do we do with our 'owners'?
Elegance is important.
The poorest example of that 'elegance' is Taisha Abelar who upon realising
that she was owned by her parents,
rushed to her parent's home in the middle of the night and started
to beat
her father up.
( Her father was much taller than her and she had to climb on to a
chair to
beat down on him!)
After that her parents disowned her.
A good example of a warrior's elegance in dealing with one's owners
is
Florinda.
She has them 'eating out of the palm of her hand' and so she can elegantly
slip away from their grasp.
The basic principal of ownership is to never be allowed to be free.
Your owners will use every trick in the book to keep you within their
grasp.
The scene is one 's parental home.
You ask:" What do you want from me?"
'Nothing we just want you to be happy!' they say.
'But I am happy'
'No you're not! You think you are. You've been brainwashed by that
cult!'
they shout.
Males are also attacked with self pity and a sense of duty.
They say 'Why don't you find a wife and get married?
Why don't you lead a respectable and responsible life?'
'But I am responsible, I have a job , I am financially independent you
say
'No you're not!' they snap 'Take your brother 'Robert'... Now He is
responsible, he has
a wife and children..'
'But he's a bum, he lives of the state and from what I hear he's also
a
drunk and he beats them all up...' you argue
'It doesn't matter, he is responsible and ..he has a good heart deep
down.....
Its you who doesn't care about anybody else but yourself...!.....
There is no way out of 'Bobby's ownership.
(The above examples were delivered with a masterly touch.
Although the descriptions were hilarious at the time and Taisha had
everyone
rolling on the floor with laughter,
the issues she raised are serious subjects for contemplation today.)
