COMPANY F

The Twentieth Maine Volunteer Infantry was organized at
Portland, Maine, during August, 1862. It was there officially
mustered into Federal service on August 29, 1862.
Originally its ranks numbered nine hundred-sixty-one
officers and enlisted men.

COMPANY A: Ames' Infantry, recruited in Clinton, Addison,
and Waterville counties.
COMBANY B: Chamberlain's Infantry, recruited in Williamsburgh,
Sebec, and Foxcroft counties.
COMPANY C: Gilmore's Infantry, recruited in Livermore, Rumford,
and Buckfield Counties.
COMPANY D: Bang's Infantry, recruited in Garland, Dexter, and
South Berwick counties.
COMPANY E: Morrill's Infantry, recruited in Bristol, Union and
Waldoborough counties.
COMPANY F: Haskell's Infantry, recruited in Wellington and
Harmony counties.
COMPANY G: Andrew's Infantry, recruited in Garland,
Edgecomb, and Wiscasset counties.
COMPANY H: Spear's Infantry, recruited in Garland, Holton,
and Beddeford counties.
COMPANY I: Hill's Infantry, recruited in Rockland and,
Thompson counties.
COMPANY J: Strickland's Infantry, recruited in Brunswick,
Livermore, and Bangor counties.
