I had suggested Alec Guiness for Gandalf, but my wife says he has
passed on. So, we need a Gandalf, Frodo, Sam and Legolas. Leonardo
DiCaprio has a bit of an elfin look, he might make a decent Legolas.
Oh, and how about Gilbert Gottfried as Wormtongue (ha,ha)?

Gollum should be played by Gary Oldman unless he ( Poetry ) did it himself!!!
Someone, with a name I won't mention because a it's bit too crude, sent me this suggestion:
"Been thinking about this for years. We actually came up
with the same guy for Bombadil, but wouldn't Johnny Cash or Sam Elliot be a
better voice for Tree Beard? Also, Steve Buscemi has GOT to be Wormtongue
and Gollum should be (I know this sounds weird) Jim Carrey. He's already
going to be the Grinch in the live action movie, I think that's good
groundwork..."

I think the perfect person for Gandalf would be Patrick Stewart, or possibly even better.. the guy who played Merlin in "Excalibur" (I forgot his name, but thought he was great!)
