When I finished Unnatural Exposure, I thought I had missed something, you know you skip a paragraph and then you are lost?

Well, I actualy did not. And contray to my rule not to buy hard cover novels, I could not refrain myself from buying Point of Origin.

Kay Scarpetta and Wesley Benton are supposed to go on holidays for a week, but she receives a phone call from ATF about an arson and is called in because of whose house has been burnt down and of a body recovered. So Benton goes on alone and she knows that she will not be able to join him there.

At the same time, in New York, Carrie Grethen, former lover of Kay's niece, Lucy, and the reason for Lucy's resignation from the FBI escapes from the mental institution where she had been awaiting trial for the numerous murders she committed with Gault (a previous novel).

Lucy, now, works for ATF under the orders of Teun and she has to move up to Philadelphia. Another arson happens with another murder with apparently the same Modus Operandi.

Lucy, Marino, Bentley and Kay are drawn together with the fear of Carrie's revenge.

Kay doing her medical examiner job, Marino trying to find out what is happening with Carrie, Benton on the profile of the arsonist and on the lookout for Carrie and Lucy trying to survive despite all her fears.

I'm enthralled by the book. Not only did Cornwell tie up Unnatural Exposure but she opened new doors for all the characters of the Scarpetta's series.

I cannot tell you more as it would spoil some of it but I was very very sad at one point and you will understand why when reading it.

Ms Cornwell if you read this,

Why did you have to do this???????

Guys, buy it, borrow it, do whatever you can to put your hands on it, it's an excellent novel!!!!
