| One of the original American synthesizer companies,ARP,named after founder Alan R Pearlman,foundered in the early 80's.Best known for the complex 2600 and more user-friendly Odyssey monosynths-at one time the only rivals to the Minimoog-ARP also produced ensemble instruments such as the Quadra,preset synths like the Pro DGX,monophonic sequencers,and early guitar synths.Development cost of the guitar synth and the innovative Chroma kayboard killed the company off. |
