Clearing of Jewish Ghettos

The Jews were told in 1941, that they were all going to be moved and resettled at a certain place to be known as the ghettos. The Nazis gathered them and forced them to hand over all their possessions. This task was that of the ìEinsatzgruppenî or Special Action Group. A leader of one of the Actions Groups during the war said, ìWe would enter a village or a city and order the prominent Jewish citizens to call together all Jews for the purpose of resettlement. They were requested to hand over their possessions shortly before the execution and to surrender their outer clothing. The men, women, and children were led to a more deeply excavated antitank ditch. Then they were shot, kneeling or standing, and the corpses thrown into the ditch. All of the Jews were either killed or sent to concentration camps to work. Not all of the Jews were killed; only the ones that were old, or they thought were not fit to work in in the concentration camps. All the survivors were sent to the secluded ghettos.
The Germans moved to eliminate the ghettos during 1942 through 1944. The Jews  were murdered in concentration camps, or died of poor living conditions. The fortunate ones were sent to work camps where they would die eventually from exhaustion, starvation, or eventual execution.   Millions of Jews were taken to death camps and died in gas chambers,
The Jews were taken out of their homes and exterminated because of their religious backgrounds. The millions of innocent people were killed out of prejudice and hatred. Even though there is a lot a prejudice and racial ideas today, it should not only be remembered for the victims, but for the prevention that it won’t happen again.
