~Back To Our Roots~   ~The Witch Alone~   ~Acceptance~   ~Untitled~

Back to our roots

The lights have dimmed to darkness
The moon has washed away sadness
A wind so strong has bid me here
Of all the leaves throughout the year
And now each leaf has found its person
A shapely face to draw the curtain
Each willow kiss creates a memory
From whence we came, 'tis elementary
Of nature where the plants breathe free
Where imaginations shape reality
Find your roots within the forest
The universe won't take you to harvest
And in the winter's chilling stare
You can always find warmth there
Come with me to seize the day
Upon the earth where'er we lay

The Witch Alone

Beyond the town, beneath the moon
Beside the standing stone
There lives a woman, fair of faith
We call the witch alone

She sings to sun and moon and stars
And gathers herbs and weeds
With which she fashions ancient charms
And other magic deeds

She worships not at altars built
By hands of mortal men
But in the misty glade
Beyond the farthest glen

What need has she of flashing swords
Of crystals glowing bright
Of censors and of colored cords
That grace the wiccan rite?
Her tools are fashioned from the earth
And wind and fire and rain
Her rites are dances wild and free
That call the gods amain

When spring and summer pass to fall
And twilight fills her eyes
Shell lie upon the browning grass
And smile as she dies

For though she leaves her mortal shell
Of flesh and blood and bone
She knows she does not die but lives
On, as the witch alone....

Acceptance

she eats, she sleeps, she drinks
she's the same as all of you
same world, same needs, same emotions
she just believes in something new.

she has found the gift of magick
she has found another path
it doesn't mean she's going to harm you
she's just not fearful of god's "wrath"

don't curse her name in speech
don't pass her without a word
she is human and has feelings
she doesn't deserve to be so hurt.

respect and love and accept her
and don't treat her with kid gloves
she won't turn you into an animal
she'll just respond with spiritual love.

Untitled

the inner peace she created was from her knowledge,
it was from her ability to reason, to comprehend
it was never a moment of self-arrogance and conceit
the inner peace will be hers until the end

she realised the way, she lived it, breathed it.
it was within her, and she embraced it.
it was never to impress or distress other beings
it was a way of life and living which simply fit.

others believed they knew the way, the only way
so they persecuted her, condemned her, hated her
it was never down to hate, but ignorance, intolerance
they could never understand the way things were.

she lives a life alone yet happy
safe in the knowledge she has, that eludes them
it was never an option for it to work and she knew it
her inner peace belongs to her and not them.
