Although retaining the well-known Cessna wing planform, the type 177 was quite different from its stablemates 172 and 182. Its large car-type entry doors immediately attract attention, yet the major differences are on the dynamic side : non-strutted wing, all-moving tailplane, ... The 177 comes in both fixed or retractable gear versions, and despite the complexities a retracting gear brings, this is the most numerous version.
