Aircraft preservation :

Beauvechain Historical Center

The Belgian Air Force base of Beauvechain/Bevekom hosts since a few years an interesting museum. Apart from the nicely turned out base history exhibition, several aircraft and aero engines also form part of the collection.

The museum is located on an active military base but has gained its own entrance, facilitating acces to visitors. Currently, it is open to the public on the first and third Sunday of each month from 13.30 to 18.00 Hr.  (extra info received from Marcel Peeren)

Rolls Royce Merlin engine

As in most air forces in post-WW2 Western Europe, the Spitfire played an important role in Belgium. This engine is one of the relics reminiscent of that era.

Gloster Meteor F.8

This aircraft has long been a gate guardian at Brustem airbase, but the Beauvechain Historical Center gained the nice jet when the former training base closed down. The Meteor has been completely restored since this picture was taken.
