More about Bro. Colin:

"I am 42 years of age, and I have just moved home to a small village in Lincolnshire, which is in the eastern part of England - into a house that is at least 200 years old! My background is quite mixed - my mother is English, and my father was Gibraltarian (my birth surname was Benitez) - and I have always thought that this aspect of my life has enabled me to understand from a very early age that there are other cultures and ways of life other than the one into which I was born, as my early childhood was a mixture of English and 'hispanic'. I am certain that "seeing the other side" has helped my to understand Freemasonry better. Incidentally, I was baptised into the Christian faith, and remain so - although I personally prefer to take a much wider view to include other beliefs too. When the American company I used to work for went "bust", I set up my own company about 5 years ago. I had a lot of fun working on my own for all that time but, to be honest, I was not making a lot of money. So, in November of last year I sold my company to a bigger one, and now I am employed as a Director of the company I originally started. Luckily, the new owners have the money to invest and now we are increasing in size. We are allied to the design industry, supplying inkjet papers and films to architects and engineers, as well as inkjet cartridges and papers to home users in the UK, mostly via internet credit card sales. "

"On to Freemasonry : my great-grandfather John was Director of Ceremonies in the Calpe Lodge in Gibraltar (Irish Constitution). Grandpa John was in the British Army during what was the height of the British Empire in the late 1800's. I have his old army records in my possession, and I can see that he travelled all over the old Empire during his service years. I have often wondered about the Lodges he must have visited while he was in those far-off places! I am honoured to have a Proposer into the Calpe Lodge, and it is my intention and honour to become an Overseas Member of Calpe on one of my many visits to Gibraltar. My own Lodge is the Hull Old Grammarians' Lodge 5129 (English Constitution), situated in the city of Kingston upon Hull, which is in East Yorkshire, England. I was made a Mason only about a year and a half ago, and was Raised to Master Mason in March of this year. I must tell you that becoming a Freemason was one of the best decisions I have ever made, and my enjoyment of my Craft has only increased as time has gone on. I am Webmaster for my Lodge ( http://surf.to/5129 ), and of my Provincial Grand Lodge ."
