Chapter #4
ONE BODY
This is another
thing that is never taught in Church.
Many Christian's through studying the Bible have come to the conclusion that we are one in the Lord. The unity of the Body outside of our own thoughts and the Bible is not widely taught. If you ask most believers what they are, you will usually hear that they are Baptist, Pentecostals, Methodist and so on. This division in the Body of Christ goes all the way back to the early Church. The Apostle Paul addressed this very problem in his first epistle to the Church in Corinth. He wrote in chapter one verses eleven to nineteen, "For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethern, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul? I thank God that I baptized none of you, But Crispus and Gaius; Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name. And I baptized also the household of Stephanas; besides, I know not whether I baptized any other. For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent."
Please note the highlighted words in the above paragraph. To bring this Scripture passage that Paul wrote, up to date. To help you understand it better, please substitute the people's names with denomination names. Get the picture, it's a divided body, today it's the body of Frankenstein (pieces taken from other dead corpses - false churches, teachings etc:) instead of the body of Christ. What's going on in the spiritual world today must make God sick. We are attempting to unite all the Church's (Buddhist, Muslim, LDS, JW'S, etc) together under one banner. I believe this confederacy of churches will eventually be headed by the false prophet and will point the way to the Anti-Christ.
Don't get me wrong, I am not against different denominations that preach you must be born-again and believe that the Bible is the Word of God. Because there are many parts of the body and there are different ministries. What I am against is them believing that they are the only ones that are right and they are not joined to other true believers in any way. As far as the Churches that are cults, or don't believe the Bible, or are not Christian in any shape or form, it is wrong to be joined with them - PERIOD.
1 Cor 6:15
Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I
then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an
harlot? God forbid.
1 Cor 6:16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot
is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.
Should God's Church (The Body) be joined to a false (Harlot) religion ? Many denominations belong to so called Church Councils that encompass cults and religions that worship other gods. If your Church is in union with one of these groups, go to your Pastor or board of elders and point this error out to them, if they do nothing to change their status - then it is time to look for another Church. Get out quick, don't be deceived by their logic, remember these words.
Acts 5:29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
All true believers are part of the body of Christ > The Church < and Jesus is the Head. Then we should be all one in the Spirit in the Lord.
1 Cor 6:17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
The New Testament speaks many times about one body, and I'll quote them now.
(Romans 12:4 KJV)
"For as we have many members in one body,
and all members have not the same office:"
(Romans 12:5 KJV) "So we, being many, are one body in
Christ, and every one members one of another."
(1 Corinthians 10:17 KJV) "For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread."
(1 Corinthians 12:12
KJV) "For as the body is one, and hath many members,
and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body:
so also is Christ."
(1 Corinthians 12:13 KJV) "For by one Spirit are we
all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or
Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to
drink into one Spirit."
(1 Corinthians 12:14 KJV) "For the body is not one
member, but many."
(1 Corinthians 12:18
KJV) "But now hath God set the members every one of them in
the body, as it hath pleased him."
(1 Corinthians 12:19 KJV) "And if they were all one
member, where were the body?"
(1 Corinthians 12:20 KJV) "But now are they many members,
yet but one body."
(1 Corinthians 12:25 KJV) "That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another."
(Ephesians 4:4 KJV) "There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;"
(Colossians 3:15 KJV) "And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful."
Are we one yet? I hope so! So let's take a look at ONE item that the Churches seem to overlook in their teaching. - T H E E N D T I M E S. That's the main reason for this book, and as believers our job is to warn people. To tell them the truth about what is really wrong in the body and what is about to happen. And the WORD of GOD tells us not to be silent, no matter what!
Ezek 3:17
Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of
Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them
warning from me.
Ezek 3:18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die;
and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked
from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall
die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
Ezek 3:19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his
wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his
iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
Ezek 3:20 Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his
righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock
before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him
warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he
hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require
at thine hand.
Ezek 3:21 Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the
righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live,
because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.
