Chapter #18

Breast Exam

TRIP #! Entering Albany, N.Y. Interstate 90, is a billboard, that promotes breast exams. It is kinda revealing and I wasn’t sure if it should be seen from the interstate or not but didn’t give it much more thought.
TRIP #2 The subject of breast exams and to much skin exposure on a billboard didn’t cross my mind again till I was coming back from another job and there it was again. When I saw the sign this time I thought how awful it must be for a woman to get this type of cancer and how a few of my female friends had some serious scares in this area.
TRIP #3 Upon seeing the sign again I remembered this program about breast cancer and how more women on Long Island get it more than other parts of the U.S. and how one woman said that a certain type of bra might contribute to the problem period. Imagine that, a bra might be responsible for a lot of the breast cancer in this country, but which one? They never said! That sounds awful to me! Wouldn’t you want to know which one? So you could tell your wife, mother, daughter, girlfriend? I would, but why is this information being kept secret? It is like some of the warnings in the Bible, that are never talked about in Church, WHY?
TRIP #4 MEN CAN GET BREAST CANCER TOO! Yup, they sure can, Hi-Tension workers (Linemen) do have a high incident rate of breast cancer. So how does all this relate to Motorcycles or to Ministry work, the Bible and the Holidays, I’m glad you asked.

The physical self exam can be life saving, But what about a spiritual self exam? After attending several business meeting in a religious organization, I understood the fact, that  all of us, have in a sense, partially rotten apples (SIN) on our heads that we can’t see. So should we throw stones at each other? I don’t think so, at least not when we are angry. We will come back to this point in a moment, after we take a look at what the Bible says.

(Psa 26:2 KJV)  Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.

DON’T MISS WHAT THESE FOUR VERSES SAY ABOUT COMMUNION!!!

(1 Cor 11:28 KJV)   But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
29  For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
30  For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
31
For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

(2 Cor 13:5 KJV)   Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

The last two times that they had Communion at Church, I didn’t go forward, because I have some unresolved issues and don’t want to bring damnation upon myself. These problems have to be settled soon and quickly as commanded in God’s Word. Until they can be resolved, I can’t take Communion.

PLEASE, always take the time, to JUDGE YOURSELVES and to do a self exam, so that you can catch the cancer of SIN before it is to late.

Now back to throwing stones, DON’T. We are told to correct fellow believers, gently, in love and with the Word of God, after taking the beam out of our own eyes (Examine ourselves). I encourage you to do a self-exam on a regular basis, we all need it!

Recently I was talking to a fellow believer about Churches and bikers, how some Churches tell the brothers to park the bikes out in the back, WHY? Think about this below.

Note: The following section is written specifically for the unsaved biker community.

Last Call

Back in my drinking days the words last call never went over to big. Nobody in the bar liked to hear those words at all and just wanted to stay there and keep doing what they enjoyed. Last call meant last chance to get what you want before we close down, hold onto that thought.

I am responsible for writing and maintaining our web pages and spend a lot of time looking for new Christian Motorcycle Ministry sites and answering questions from people who write to us online. There seems to be more and more Motorcycle Ministries springing up everywhere and we seem to be getting more mail asking about information on how to join. I have even received some mail from people who don’t even ride on how do I get involved. For instance I received one e-mail from Florida from a lady who told us that she feels that the Lord wants her to buy a Harley, learn how to ride it and do Motorcycle Ministry work in her area. This might seem funny to you, but it made me stop for a minute and do some serious thinking about it.

Is God targeting the biker community at this time in human history? If so, why? I know for a fact, in the so-called Christian world, we aren’t very high on the list and probably wouldn’t be even thought of by most Churches. Matter of fact I have heard of a few Churches that would ask the brothers to park their scooters out back. Why? We might give the Church a bad name? Any Church, ANY, that has this kind of attitude, should take a good hard look at their walk with Jesus, and do a serious self exam with the WORD of GOD.

I have read the Bible many times and have never seen any place that says you can’t ride, wear leather or anything else that puts down bikers AT ALL. ANYWHERE IN THE WORD OF GOD - PERIOD! (Please don't quote the appearance of evil, most of us when we see someone in a suit, see the appearance of evil in our eyes and saying leather and motorcycles are evil isn't the truth, just like wearing a suit isn't bad.) So why this kind of attitude? Well its not a new one for sure and we can take a look at a example of the self-righteous that Jesus had a real problem with.

John 8:3  And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
4  They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
5  Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
6  This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
7  So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
8  And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
9  And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
10  When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
11  She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her,
Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

Please take a look at the parts above that are in bold. Jesus wrote in the dirt and they were convicted of their sin and left, one at a time till they were all gone. What did Jesus write? And what is this passage all about?

In those days anybody that was caught doing those things were stoned to death according to the law. Jesus never pointed out to these self-righteous people were is the guy, he just wrote in the sand. It doesn’t say anywhere what he wrote, but one preacher who I respect very much had this thought. Jesus wrote the names of women, that these supposedly righteous people, had committed adultery with. So they were all as guilty as the woman they brought to him, when their sin was revealed they all walked away. And Jesus forgave her and told her to sin no more. He said these things gently and with love very unlike the self-righteous Christians and Churches. Don’t get me wrong there are many Churches who welcome and love us just the way we are and God does too.

Today’s world is a mess and I believe that Jesus will return soon to the earth to establish His Kingdom here and the last call is going out to the bikers, the hookers, the druggies and the alcoholics, like us. And not to the Church.

On a good note, recently I have run across a few Churches that are comprised of mostly bikers, from the Pastor all the way down, and they attend Church in their leathers and are just like us (and Born-Again), PRAISE GOD.

If your not Born-Again (Saved) you might consider this.

Jesus is gently calling out to you today, please answer HIS call and invite HIM into your heart to be LORD and SAVIOUR of your life. How? Simply bow your head and say a prayer something like this. Dear Lord, please forgive all the sins that I have committed, I thank you for dying on the Cross in my place and ask that you save me and come into my heart and be my LORD and SAVIOUR. I thank and Praise You for all that You have done. In Jesus' name, Amen

Now for the bottom line!

We all (Churches too) have to exam ourselves on a daily basis with God's Holy Word. Whoever reads this and is saved remember that you might be the only Christian that someone meets. 2 Cor. 3:2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
We must at all times remember to act the way that would be pleasing to Jesus and keep our flesh in submission to the WORD. Do I look at things and judge them with my flesh, are they good or bad, yes, I do sometimes and that is wrong. The Bible is to be our yard stick, not our standards, God's. If I was to judge whether my feet or hands looked better (I got really ugly feet) I'd pick my hands, but I'd be wrong. Romans 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! I may not be preaching the Gospel of peace at this moment but I do preach it for sure. In the end it all comes down to love (Charity).

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

(1 Cor 8:1 KJV) Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.

(1 Cor 13:1 KJV) Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

(1 Cor 13:2 KJV) And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

(1 Cor 13:3 KJV) And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

(1 Cor 13:4 KJV) Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

(1 Cor 13:8 KJV) Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

(1 Cor 13:13 KJV) And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

(1 Cor 14:1 KJV) Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.

(1 Cor 16:14 KJV) Let all your things be done with charity.

(Col 3:14 KJV) And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

(1 Th 3:6 KJV) But now when Timotheus came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you:

(2 Th 1:3 KJV) We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;

(1 Tim 1:5 KJV) Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

(1 Tim 2:15 KJV) Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

(1 Tim 4:12 KJV) Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

(2 Tim 2:22 KJV) Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

(2 Tim 3:10 KJV) But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,

(Titus 2:2 KJV) That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.

(1 Pet 4:8 KJV) And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

(1 Pet 5:14 KJV) Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity. Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen.

(2 Pet 1:7 KJV) And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

(3 John 1:6 KJV) Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well:

(Jude 1:12 KJV) These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

(Rev 2:19 KJV) I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.

God Bless
