About Me! HUh |
HiSince you came up here, you really want to know me better, don't you? First of all, let me thank you for coming here and spending your precious time in this corner. Also, I would like to take this opportunity to express myself and give you a bit about myself. Before that, I want you to sit back, relax and read what I have to say about my biography. Have a fun and enjoy your visit with my humble cyber house. Whoops! I almost have forgotten to introduce myself to you. I should start with my name, ok. My name is Mohamed; probably, I was given this name two days after I was born. In fact, Mohamed is a typical Somalia male name that is most likely given to the boys who are born first in the family hierarchy. Would that reason alone make Mohamed a very common among Somalis? Mmm!.. I don't think so. Mohamed is also the name of our beloved Prophet (Peace be upon him). Prophet Mohamed (PBH) is the zeal of all prophets from God for he was sent to all mankind. If you have already guessed my nationality right from my name, or from the flag on the main menu of this site, then you are certainly right, I'm from Somalia. l left Puntland back in 1985 for university scholarship in Saudi Arabia. Puntland is an alternative name for Somalia, for it was given 3000 thousand years ago by the ancient Egyptains. However, that was not my last time to see that country. The last time was the Summer of 1988. I just went there for my Summer holidays, and it was the best time of all. That memory still flashes back to me as it was just like yesterday; throughout that holiday, I visited the most wonderful sites in Somalia or would I say, Southern Somalia (ye know, now days, i picked up new terms like Southern/North Mogadisho, Somaliland and Puntland...huh...). Places like the Afgooye area, the beautiful beaches of Liido, Jazira and the unbelievable Xeebta Zambuzzi were among the wondrous places I visited. In Zambuzzi, I spent quality time with dear friends. Would I see those places ever again? Hopefully Yes if the recent peace process in Carta ends up with an agreement to put the nation back on its feet. When I left the country, I roamed almost around the world. You name it, from the Middle East, to up North, to Europe and then I came back to South East Asia of the Indian Continent. After all these adventurer-survivals, I knew I had to make a choice. As they say, our lives are a sum total of the choices we have made. Finally, I decided to head to the American Continent, and especially, to the North Pole. On February 2, 1989, I landed in this country, Canada. Ever since, Canada has been my homeland. I settled here, in Toronto, went to school, found my pride here. In addition, Somalia is my country and no matter what happens to that place, it will remain in my heart forever. Also the Somalian people are my group of identity and my family of linkage. In fact, all Somalis are considered as a one family group who share the same blood, language, culture and many more. Unfortunately, they are a homogeneous people who finally turned their guns on each other. Ooh God, I wished there had never been a civil war in Somalia. I'm not in a position to regret the catastrophe and the misfortune that we had been through, but I feel that I could've, at least, done something to stop the civil war. I knowwww that, one person alone couldn't have done anything about what was happening there, but at least one person, some how, could have influenced others to minimize the damages. The reason I am so emotional is that I'm over 30 years old who spent half of my lifetime outside Somalia(qurbe) . When I left the country, we had a functioning system; true it was a corrupt one and ONE country. Look now, no system exits in Somalia whatsoever, and the country totally disintegrated into pieces. Do you know how painful is to hear sometimes when other people talk about the progress of their homeland, their president, their ambassadors, their ministers, their future generations, and, and, and, ... I bet you all have felt that pain before, if you were truly Somalian. As they said, sometimes: corrupt government is better than nothing. Let me stop here and quit this emotional feelings and talk about myself a bit. . I am currently attending Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Niagara University in New York.
