In
the darkness of the night In a town with little light Before the first hours
of the morn A baby boy was born
At His birth, there was a great light That
made the small town shine bright Angels in heaven sang And peaceful chimes
rang
The boy grew to become a man His words were revered like gold He
spoke in the name of the Father As the prophets foretold
He stayed in the
desert for forty days And defeated the Devil at his game Satan offered Him
riches, gold, and temples but He refused to succumb to such worldly fame
He
led a band of 12 And roamed through the towns of Israel Spreading joy and
preaching love Fulfilling the words of Isaiah and Ezekiel
But, many did
not believe His words They cursed and denounced His name Even His own follower
betrayed Him And gave unto men who didn't preach the same
He was hit and
scourged by soldiers as blind as the dead And was left bare with only a thin shred They
gave Him a crown of thorns to wear on His head And they pounded Him with sticks
until He bled
They gave Him a heavy cross to carry on the way Up to a small
hill, in the middle of the day He walked the long and difficult path Holding
in His throbbing heart the people's great wrath
As He reached the top of the
hill called Calvary The soldiers nailed His weak hands to the cross He screamed
and writhed in pain The whole world mourned the loss
That day, the sky
grew thick with clouds The universe was lamenting the death of the King But,
on the third day, the Earth received good news The chimes rang, and the angels
began to sing
"He has risen from the dead!" the women called And
so, this man has gone back to heaven and He is always there seeing us This Man
that gave the whole world it's happiness This great man called Jesus
For
God so loved the world That He gave His only son Rejoice; oh people of the
world, For Jesus has died for you and me
