The greatest thing
in the world ...
is the gift of loving.
Patience, kindness, humility,
generosity, courtesy,
unselfishness, good temper,
guilelessness and sincerity -
these are the nine necessary
ingredients of love.
They can not be learned
through meditation,
solitude or prayer, but only
through constant practice
in the daily life.
Mankinds most vital task
is to learn to love.
The gift of loving builds
bridges and tears down walls.
Love is an action word.
Love isn't love until
it is given away.
Love defies definition.
It can not be willed,
manufactured or
secured by force;
to see how those attempts
have failed, we only need
look around us.
If we possess everything
and yet don't
have love, we are nothing.
If we give all, but don't
have love, we gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not
boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not
self seeking, it is not
easily angered, it keeps
no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight
in evil, but rejoices
with the truth.
It always protects,
always trusts, always hopes,
always perseveres.
Love never fails...
The greatest thing
in the world is love.
I Corinthians 13
How many will join me
in reading this love chapter,
found in ICorinthians 13,
once a week for the rest of your life?
I know a man who
does this and his whole
life has changed. Will you?
It is for the greatest thing
in the world.
