MMMM CLOSES OUT 1999

Avast ye readers of the Balmy Breezers Newsbrief! The MMMM closed out the year this date with the usual happy-go-lucky atmosphere we're noted for. Capn Ed chauffered his ol' buddy Carlos from his place to the meeting, arriving late by fifteen minutes. This of course wasn't because of any little thing, as the two were in serious discussion on how to delete old email messages on the phone. Late, or not, Carlos' first heave-around was already in place thanks to Dianne, as were Dick, Gary, and Gene.

Later on Bill V. made a grand entrance, sashaying over to his place next to Dick. So...six all told showed for this last of 1999 meeting.

DOOM & GLOOM
- NO WAY JOSE

We're not going to get into any millenial, or religious lunacy about the upcoming new millenium, and its supposed "end times" predictions, because as one notable character two-millenia or so ago said: "of that time knows no man, not even myself..." Rest assured...this will not be our last newsbrief...one week from now there will be another. Of course, if this machine crashes, or the the writer succumbs, there might not be, but other wise life will go on as usual.

More down to earth discussions were the fare for the day for this small group, things like the importance of Radio Officers back when. It's all dwelling on the past, as we all realize today that no one is important anymore on ships...so the bean counters tell us. All had a great holiday past in their own way, and all looked chipper...so to speak. So...not to bore you with anymore details, because most of the non-stop conversation went un-recorded, sit back, listen to the music, and view the photos of us, and others that attended this humble meeting over the past year. Have a good one.

The Monday Morning Mariners' Meeting

The MMMM meets at 1130 every monday in the Captains Grill at the Holiday Inn in Cocoa Beach Florida, and is open to all - mariner or not. All are welcome who have a need for telling sea-stories, good company, and good food. There are no formalities, nor membership requirements. Take nothing seriously, nor believe anything you hear. Seating is by tenure, especially the chair nearest the bulkhead facing inboard. The meeting adjourns around 1300 for no reason whatsoever.
