Young Adult Cockatiels
As you can see in these pictures, our little baby cockatiels have grown up... well sorta, they are young adults now :) They no longer need to be handfed or kept warmer than room temperature. They are still slightly smaller than their parents, but are still growing. They have all their feathers now and what a big change that is from the old pictures! They also now have names. Pearl (blonde) and Opal (grey/cinnamon) are very rambunctious and have very distinct personalities. They are also chewing everything they can get their little beaks on, including fingers and ears :) They also are eating plenty of table food in addition to seeds. Well, onto the pictures.....
Here you see Daddy Dusty with his kids :) Most of the time, Dusty doesn't like them because they are so active and make him nervous.
This is a good dinner time picture. Chrissy, the mommie, is on the left. You may notice that Skye's tail is in this picture also. She might have been hiding hehe :) You also may notice that Opal's crest is at full attention which means she is alarmed, probably because of the camera and how close it was to them.
Opal is relaxing on the clothes hanger :)
A nice picture of Pearl, Opal and Skye on the clothes hanger. Skye and the young tiels get along really well. Skye is not intimidated by the obvious size difference and sometimes bosses them around.
Can't we eat our millet spray in peace???
