Movie Review:
The most recent Bond Film, this one is for the most part very good in my opinion. It has a lot of action, but also adds a good plot to it. This one also gets a special footnote in the Bond legacy as being the last movie with Desmond Llewelyn as Q. In the movie, he announces his retirement and introduces R(John Cleese) as his replacement. The sad irony here is the Llewelyn was killed in an automobile accident not to long after the movie appeared in theaters. I don't believe that the bond films will feel quite the same without Q. The plot behind this movie is that Bond fails to save an oil baron, also a friend of M's. He then sets out to protect his daughter, who was recently kidnapped and escaped and the kidnapper is the one believed to have killed her father. This time the villain is Renard, an anarchist who has suffered brain damage from a shot to the head by another MI6 agent. Renard is slowly dying, but until he does he is impervious to pain.
