Movie Review:
This movie was the first one where Pierce Brosnan plays James Bond. In my opinion, Brosnan is the best Bond since Connary. Goldeneye has got to one of the best Bond films of the past two decades, in my opinion anyway. An interesting note: Goldeneye was in theaters in 1995. The previous Bond film(Licence to Kill), was in theaters in 1989(a 6 year gap). If Goldeneye had not done well, it could of spelled doom for the Bond legacy, but luckly, it was a big hit. Since then, Bond films have been coming out every two years again. Now, onto the plot! The movie takes place in the present, with the cold war being over but tensions still running high. In the first scene which flashes back to the past, it show Bonds partner 006 being killed by Colonel Ourumov, and Bond barly escaping with his life. Flash forward to the present: Ourumov has been made a General and put in charge of Russia's Space Weapons division. Unfotunatly, he betrays his people and steals the codes for two Goldeneye satalites, secret space based weapons which when fired at their target explode and emit a tremendous electromagnetic pulse, destroying everything with an electric circuit. It is up to Bond to stop them, and to do so he teams up with a Natalya Simonova, a Russian programer. Besides Ourmov, Bond must also contend with the Janus syndicate, who's leader's identity is unknown. Extras Review:
