Introduction

Hi!!! Welcome to my homepage. My full name is Jimmy Tong B.C. It has took me a lot of effort to come out with my very own web page. A lot of research and "spying" of others web page has given some idea of how my WebPages should look like and how I should present my page to the world. Just the first page alone has took me about a day or two to finish. Feel free to drop me some comment if have any suggestion to improve my page after your tour.

Growing Up

I was born in 1975, the year of the rabbit. I came from a small family somewhere in southern Singapore. Beside my parents, I have a grandma and a younger brother. I started my formal education in Waterloo Primary School in 1982. The school merge with Stamford Girls' School in 1984 to form today's Stamford Primary School Primary.

I Graduated in 1987, and was posted to Bendemeer Secondary School in 1988. The life in secondary school was indeed hectic and fun. It was here that I have made a lots of friends which we still keep in touch nowadays. It was also a transition period for me. It was the stage of life where we usually experience dramatic change of character and behavior, i.e, it was a stage of growing up. The four years in secondary school was fun and brings back some good memories.

After my 'O' level, I chose to study Electrical Engineering at Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Life in NP was great and fun, I had a fair shares of hardworks and social activities during the 3 years there. It was a totally different environment compared to secondary school and I really enjoy the stay. It was here that I have met some of my very close friends.

My best year was the 2nd year of the course where we have a class of hardworkers. All of us were determine to score well in the examination. And with good attitude and determination, our class have done very very well in the exams, and we ended up been one of top classes in among our peers.

After my graduation from NP in 1995, I was enlisted into the Army for my National Service. It was a mixed feeling and potential enlistees were speculating about the life in the Army. Will it be tough? How can we cope will the regimental life? How will we be treat? So and so... And we have heard many stories relating to the NS from the "veteran". Stories related to the super-nature encounters to some funny stories of how a recruit lost his underwear were told by friends who have finished their NS. All these stories have made us mentally prepared for the D-day.

I was enlisted on the 26th of September 1995 and ORD on the 27th of January 1998. The two and a half years has finally passed and it is now my turn to tell stories to the potential enlistees. Time really fly very fast. My days in the Army was indeed a very good experience in terms of character development and dealing with problems. Not only we were trained to fight a war, we were also trained to be a responsible and a more mature person.

I am now working as an Associate Engineer in the Telecommunication Industry. Life is becoming more demanding and I still have a long way to go. There are also many thoughts and worries that cross over mind every here and there. Worry about my future, worry about my health, worry about my family, worry about my education....

Perhaps that will be another stage of life that I have to conquer.
