More About Us

and a little about Ocala

Voted an All America City in 1995, Ocala boasts beautiful horse farms, cattle ranches, the Ocala National Forest, many natural springs and recreation areas, Silver Springs Attraction, Wild Waters, and much more in its north central Florida location.  Our members come mainly from Marion, Citrus, Alachua, and surrounding counties to take advantage of OAG's fellowship, art demonstrations, workshops, exhibitions, and The Appleton Museum of Art.

All OAG members are required to be members of The Appleton Museum of Art.  Application for membership can be obtained at the museum.  For more information about museum membership call (352)236-7100 Ext. 100 or visit their website.

The Appleton Museum of Art

The OAG became affiliated with The Appleton Museum of Art in September of 1994.  The museum provides space for meetings, shows, and workshops as well as storage for equipment and records.  Some of our members are also museum docents and volunteers.

Each year, OAG contributes a financial gift to the museum which is used to our mutual benefit.  In 1999, the museum honored us with a placque in recognition of these gifts.
